Name: Namagembe Mitchell

Age: 2

D.O.B: 11/08/2018

Mitchell like her sister Mariana faces the same challenges. Her father lost the job. Though they do not stay together as a family, he tries his level best to assist the wife but the economic situation does not favour him give assistance to sustain their life. The mother therefore ends up laboring alone to meet the two children needs. We are optimistic she will have a better education given circumstances surrounding the family.

She has to be joining school 2021 for Kindergarten one. She is very introvert in doing things, we thus believe when she joins school her social life will change.

Name: Nalukwago Katrina

Age: 8

D.O.B: 8/01/2012

Katrina has been staying with her grandmother since birth. Her father left the care to her mother who was of tender age due to early marriages in Africa. Failure to support her child, Katrina’s mother abandoned her to the grandmother to go and look for a livelihood elsewhere. However, her grandmother is aged to cater for her and other family members. Now in her P3 class, Katrina often misses classes in her school to go and help her family members with farming and stone mining in a nearby quarry. She has watched our school since its inception but has had no chance to study from here despite her desire.

Her dream is to join a boarding school where she can concentrate and study to become a nurse, providing health care to the sickly poor people. She love Music, Dance and Drama.

The school has finally given her a full scholarship

Name: Nalukwago Nulu

Age: 7

D.O.B: 22/11/2013

Nulu is in her Primary One. She is such a bright girl. Before the outbreak of Covid 19, a sympathizer had helped pay her tuition fees after watching her perform during a school concert. However, the sympathizer has now lost her job that she cannot continue with her tuition fees support.

Looking forward to become a lawyer, Nulu is very active and social in her life good at playing Netball. She comes from a family of 4 children. Nulu’s mother labours to bring bread to the table after digging stones in the nearby stone quarry. The father has other children and wives and can spend months without coming home. His failure to educate one child does not bother him as he laments “Our fathers and grand’s were never educated but survived.” Hopefully Nulu becomes one of the family Hero’s after she gets a sponsor.
